If the Princess enters his home, Bardo spots her and asks if she is a thief. No matter how she answers him, Bardo tells her that he has misplaced the key to a cabinet in his cellar and asks for her assistance in opening it. If the princess agrees, he will lead her to the cellar.

Once down in the cellar, he'll attack her, but the reason for this is different between v1.50 and the EE remake.

In the EE remake, Bardo has a bug where his cellar door has the wrong tag and he will not open it to lead the Princess down - but if she picks the door or pickpockets his key and opens it, he'll continue leading her down. While she's pickpocketing him, she might want to grab his weapon as well.

As soon as they're down in the cellar, he'll attack her. If the Princess explores his cellar, she'll find a strange device with a high DC lock, and a secret door.

The secret door leads to a room with a Ceremonial Knife (Shortsword with 5 Vampiric Regeneration), Red Key, and a diary. Bardo's diary implies that he has been trying to bring back his deceased lover, and that with Kena's advice he's attempting some necromantic ritual that requires sacrificing a large number of women.

If you pick the lock on the device at the center of the previous room, or open it with the Red Key, you'll be attacked by an undead woman.

In v1.50 The cabinet is down in the cellar, along with the corpses of Bardo's previous victims. Bardo blocks off the princess's escape by locking the doors and transforms into a werewolf. The princess must kill him to retrieve the key to the doors.

If the princess has already seen the corpses in his cellar before speaking to him and tells him of this, he will attack her.
