Overview[]

This is one of the seven lessons given to the Princess by Master Nathan at the beginning of the story. During the lesson the Princess is meant to learn fighting and defending herself. The quest is originally received from Nathan, but the Princess must talk with Hatori to learn the details.

Hatori appreciates good behavior. His approach to theory is conversational, but when it's put to action, he likes to give clear instructions. All the Princess needs to do is follow them.

Notes[]

  • Smart Princess chooses a weapons she is able to wield. Greedy Princess chooses a weapon that can be later sold for better price.
  • If Hatori has trouble counting, refer to the troubleshooting section.

Walkthrough[]

This is a mandatory quest during Chapter 1 of Part One.

After receiving the quest from Nathan, visit the Tea Shop (Betancuria North) during the day, as all shops close at nighttime. Help Hatori with the dishes and talk to him. In the evening, follow him into the cellar. You get to choose your weapon, so make sure your class can use it. You will then need to pass the tests Hatori gives you.

Surviving the battles[]

  • Bashing the combat dummy should be easy enough.
  • Evading Taka may prove more difficult as he's a decent fighter and will often stun you. You could fight him, parry him or you can just jog around in the cellar tumbling past him while Hatori counts from ten to one. There is also the option of striping down in order to distract him, but Hatori will present you with a lesser armor making material at the end if you do.
  • Finally you need to fight a lizard and kill it.
Bug: If Hatory doesn't begin counting down, let Taka beat you and try again. See the Troubleshooting page for more information.

The resolution[]

Once done, Hatori will give you some leather that can be used to craft a working armor. Depending on how respectful you were or if you removed your clothing to distract Taka, it could be some worn leather used to create a typical leather armor or some clean leather for the studded leather armor. The crafting material must be taken to Igor the smith in Betancuria North so it can be fitted, a service he will perform for free.

After you're done you can go to Caron and speak to him about the lesson.
