Quintan Batiatan

Quintan and his wife Lukrezia Batiatan are a swinger couple who own the Batiatan School of Gladiators. They are involved in the quest Dance with Death.

Quintan's father Titulan resisted the Dhorn takeover of Betancuria and was killed. Quintan, who was living in Sargoza at the time, returned to Betancuria and pulled some strings with the Dhorn to inherit his father's possessions, including the school. However, their gladiators have not been doing well in the arena, and Quintan is desperate for a new champion.

Despite the name "school," all the gladiators at the Batiatan School of Gladiators seem to be enslaved criminals, and it appears to operate fairly differently from Calder Blake’s School of Gladiators. Quintan speaks romantically of restoring the gladiator school and sees no issue with harsh methods such as forcing "students" to fight to the death for the role of champion.

He and Calder Blake have a rivalry that can be witnessed at the bathhouse if Dance with Death is started before Uncover the Dhorn Spies is completed.

Quintan and his wife Lukrezia enjoy a hedonistic lifestyle - they met both each other and Evana at swingers' parties, and share their lovers. The Princess can experience a taste of their lifestyle (and Quintan himself) during the quest Dance with Death.

Though he can be somewhat oblivious to the idea that those beneath him have their own feelings and motivations and aren't driven by bringing glory to his gladiator school, he is also fairly perceptive, and will figure out that the Princess is a member of The Family based on her ability to deal with an escaped gladiator during Dance with Death.
