This article is part of a collection for the walkthrough for Part One.

This quest is initiated once the Princess passes in one of the passages in Betancuria North to Betancuria South. One of the commoners will recognize the Princess and start talking to her, risking her exposure. The Princess can deal with the situation herself, ignore it, or tell Nathan and let someone else get their hands dirty.

Notes

  • This quest is optional as it is not required to finish the story, but it is hard not to initiate it.

This quest is available right from the start.

If you walk through the eastern-most street in Northern Betancuria leading to the southern part of the city, a commoner will address you and tell you he knows you.

You can leave him there, ask him to meet you somewhere private, or ask him to meet you at the Bear Pit.

Version 1.50[]

In v1.50, the only resolution to the quest is getting the commoner killed - the question is just how.

  • If you ask him to talk somewhere more private in v1.50, you'll bring him to an alley out of sight and attack him, earning some evil points
  • If you ask Nathan to deal with him, Nathan will send Vico. If you asked the commoner to meet you at the Bear Pit first, Nathan will praise you for being clever.

Version 2.20[]

In v2.20, you can ask the commoner to meet you either at the Bear Pit, or in his house at 12, Market Street. It's now possible to leave him alive while still resolving the quest.

  • Tell Nathan about the encounter - Nathan will send Vico to deal with him. If you take this option after sending him home and then enter the house at 12, Market Street later, you'll find the man dead (and get 10 evil points due to the way his death script works)
  • Tell the man to meet you at his house at 12, Market Street and go there yourself. Having had time to consider the implications if the Dhorn found out about your meeting, the man is no longer excited to see you, and is in fact planning to flee to Sargoza.
    • You can let him leave (+10 good), or attack him (+10 evil).
    • Even if you let him flee, you can report to Nathan afterwards, and Nathan will send Vico to "make sure he doesn't have a change of heart."
